Day II: Warm-up Activity Objective The three-folded purpose of the warm-up activity is to 1) identify the experiences and skills amongst associates in handling challenging TA/Training engagements; 2) set tone for up-coming problem-solving activities; and 3) create an opportunity to discuss effective ways to manage challenging situations.      Instructions Ask participants pair off and talk about how they have handled TA and training situations that go horribly wrong (i.e. hostile group, overheard someone say something problematic during a site visit, observed a troubling practice, recommendations not received well, etc.)  Ask them to recall: * How they reacted? * How they managed the situation? * Who they relied on for assistance? * What would they have done differently? * Were there any measures that could have been taken to prevent the situation from happening in the first place?  Ask for volunteers to share their experiences with the larger group. Ask the group: What seems to be some of the common strategies used for coping in these situations, and what are some of the “lessons learned”?
