The vision of the VCT is a world where individuals with disabilities and Deaf/hard of hearing individuals who have experienced violence or abuse will find accessible, respectful, and responsive support regardless of where they turn. They envision a world where there is safety for all people and where all people can live free from violence and abuse. In this world, all paths and all choices of victims/survivors are respected.
The mission of the VCT is to increase access, improve systems’ responses, and expand acceptance, support and safe spaces for individuals who have disabilities or are Deaf/Hard of Hearing and who experience domestic and sexual violence. This will be accomplished by cultivating effective and sustainable collaborations among our organizations and providing mutual technical assistance to change policies, practices, and systems.
