Vision

The vision of Illinois Imagines is for all women with disabilities will be guaranteed an environment free from sexual violence, where they are empowered to speak and act for themselves. Survivors of sexual violence will be assured a proactive, individualized, compassionate response to their experience.

Mission

The mission is to develop, implement, formalize, and sustain integrated systems in Illinois that will:

Empower women with disabilities to actively shape those systems.
Prohibit and interrupt sexual violence perpetrated against women with disabilities.
Support and empower women to report sexual violence to any provider, agency or law enforcement official.
Provide survivor-centered crisis response, advocacy and counseling for women with disabilities.
Remove all obstacles faced by women with disabilities who are survivors of sexual violence.

Collaboration Charter
The collaboration charter summarizes and memorializes the decisions the collaboration agreed upon including: a vision and a mission; shared values; decision making and conflict resolution protocols; policies on confidentiality; communications and work plans; and relevant definitions.
Needs Assessment Plan
The needs assessment plan documents the collaboration’s approach to determining the strengths and gaps in their organizations. It includes their methodologies, recruitment strategies, and questions for each audience.
Needs Assessment Report
The needs assessment report documents what the collaboration found when they interviewed or conducted focus groups with key audiences within their organizations.
Strategic Plan
The strategic plan documents the collaboration’s plans for improving services for survivors with disabilities and Deaf survivors. It includes the collaboration’s justification for each initiative and the timelines for completion.
Disability Responsiveness Tool
This assessment tool is used to assess the accessibility of rape crisis centers to survivors with disabilities. The tool addresses issues ranging from physical environments, policy environments, and communication environments. Once a review is completed, a barrier-removal plan is developed to address accessibility concerns.
Trauma Responsiveness Tool
This tool is designed to help a disability services agency evaluate its responses, both formal and informal, to clients/residents/consumers who experience sexual violence. After the assessment, the agency will receive resources and on-site assistance to help enhance the response to women with disabilities who experience sexual violence.
Memorandum of Understanding
This MOU documents the ongoing partnership between the collaboration members once the grant period has ended, based in the principles of their Collaboration Charter.
Provider Toolkit
This toolkit guides local communities in forming a collaboration to address the issue of sexual assault against women with disabilities.
