Community Profiles
This section provides information on the experiences of 25 communities that are working to improve services for women with disabilities and Deaf women who are victims/survivors of violence. These sites were funded in October 2006 and October 2007 by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women through the Education, Training and Enhanced Services to End Violence Against and Abuse of Women with Disabilities Grant Program. To achieve their goal, these communities are using an array of innovative processes and practices that build upon the lessons learned and successes of past efforts and existing, established programs. Their work is evolving, and so is the information contained in this section.
