Step Seven: Distribute Your Findings

Congratulations on finishing your needs assessment report. Your collaboration is almost finished with the needs assessment process. The next and final step is to distribute your findings.

Recipients

  • Members of your collaboration. Having a copy of the report will prepare the members of your collaboration for the next step: developing a strategic plan that describes how your collaboration plans to improve services and build the capacity of service providers to meet the needs of survivors with disabilities and those who are Deaf.
  • Individuals who participated in the needs assessment. Giving a copy of the report to those individuals who were surveyed, interviewed, or included in a focus group is one way to show your appreciation for their time and input. Plus, it shows that your collaboration is using the insights that they provided.
  • Other key stakeholders and potential decision-makers. Providing a copy of the report to other people who may be interested in its findings may open up new possibilities for future partnerships and resources. Be sure to share the report with current and potential funders.

Since people have different learning styles and some may prefer a presentation of the findings over reading the report, your collaboration should also create opportunities to present the findings. Consider presenting the findings at collaboration meetings, meetings of key stakeholders, and community forums.
