Step Five: Implement Your Plan

Once your strategic plan is finalized, it will be time for your collaboration to execute your plans.Implementation is where you’ll spend the bulk of your time and resources. By drawing from your strategic planning process and the document itself, you will have a clear sense of the work that needs to be done.Success of this step is determined by a clear and well-defined strategic plan process.

Implementation Responsibilities for Your Collaboration

  • Identify well-defined, specific responsibilities for your collaborative partners.
  • Consider adding new partners to help with specific implementation goals.
  • Manage timelines set for each objective.
  • Develop ways to monitor your plans and time management.
  • Monitor budgets and resources, specifying the amount of money needed and used for all resources, equipment, materials, etc.
  • Create ways for team members to communicate about their progress, concerns, and ideas.

These should be addressed in the strategic plan and should be monitored and evaluated for effectiveness.
