Tenant/Landlord Law
Tenant/landlord law is very different from fair housing. These laws do not offer civil rights protections. Tenant/landlord law regulates what housing activities are allowable under state law or local ordinance. It will cover things such as lease provisions, eviction proceedings, tenant rights to privacy and use of the premises, etc. The state Office of the Attorney General promulgates and enforces these types of laws under their consumer protection regulations. Some municipalities and counties have local boards that would do the same for their ordinances.
