Emily joined Vera’s Accessing Safety Initiative in October 2009. Prior to joining Vera, Emily served as the manager of programs and development for Kula for Karma in Bergen County, New Jersey. Emily worked with the National Organization for Women on a campaign to identify sex trafficking in New York City communities and urge prominent New York City publications to end advertisements supporting sexual violence against women. While pursuing her undergraduate degree in political science and women’s and gender studies at Pace University, she worked on a research project that addressed the demand for sex trafficking in the US and proposed alternate methods of ending sexual violence against women.
