Founded in 1978, The Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD) formerly known as Adaptive Environments (AE), is an educational non-profit organization committed to advancing the role of design in expanding opportunity and enhancing experience for people of all ages and abilities. The IHCD's work balances expertise in legally required accessibility with promotion of best practices in human centered or universal design. Projects vary from local to international. All are characterized by collaboration and user participation.

We have partnered with the IHCD to develop resources and trainings to help the organizations we work with to improve their accessibility and, ultimately, welcome and effectively serve women with disabilities and Deaf women.
