Catherine Fribley

Catherine (Cat) Fribley supervises the National Resource Sharing Project (RSP) for the Iowa Coalition Against Sexual Assault (IowaCASA). Cat has been with IowaCASA since 2001, serving as Project Coordinator for the RSP. Through this project, she provides capacity building training and technical assistance to state and territorial sexual assault coalitions supported by the state coalitions grant of the Office on Violence Against Women, and coordinates the national activities of the project. She has worked to end violence against women for 11 years at national, state, and local advocacy organizations. She has held such varied positions as SART Coordinator at a University based Rape Crisis Center, Director of Training and Volunteers at a dual program and Rural Outreach Director for a county of 7000 in Iowa before moving to the Iowa Coalition to work with the RSP. Ms. Fribley has trained on a broad range of sexual assault issues with special interest areas including survivors giving birth, healing sexuality, online counseling, SART development and GLBT issues. She has also trained sexual assault coalitions and centers on organizational issues such as board development, strategic planning, anti-racist organization building and effective statewide collaborations. Ms. Fribley has also served on numerous local, state, and national advisory boards and working groups in an effort to end sexual violence in her own and every community.
